You have overlapping coverage from two to four cameras, separate sound and recordings of different lengths. The editor needs to know which placements are supported before cutting, and the same sources may serve a later version.
How Stringout solves this
01
How do I align cameras that start and stop at different times?
Add the recordings to a project, including each camera restart as its own source. Stringout can group two to four overlapping angles and place separate sound against the picture using available timecode, slate and audio evidence. Each recording keeps its own start and end, so a short angle does not have to fill the continuous camera’s whole roll.

02
How can I spot uncertain sync before the NLE handoff?
Project files show Synced, Provisional or Needs review when they belong to a sync group. Provisional means a placement still lacks confirming evidence; Needs review means the evidence conflicts. Export preflight counts conflicting and unverified clips before handoff, so you can flag those sources instead of presenting every placement as settled.

Sync status carried into export preflight
Record the actual Stringout Browser sync badge and export preflight for a project with an unresolved placement. Show the source status and the resulting conflicting or unverified count. Use only the existing status and export surfaces.
- Open a project containing a real provisional or conflicting sync placement.
- Show the source’s Sync column badge in the Browser.
- Choose a supported NLE target from the project export menu.
- Show the preflight warning and its conflicting or unverified count.
03
Can I reuse the aligned sources for a later cut?
Yes. The camera and sound recordings remain indexed in the project for another pass. Auto-assemble or a connected assistant can propose source-range selections from them; review those ranges against the recordings before using them.
Export the sequence as aligned clips on separate lanes for Premiere, Resolve or Final Cut Pro. The receiving editor chooses the angles and sound treatment in the NLE.
The result
Aligned sources the editor can revisit
The project keeps the indexed camera and sound recordings for another cut. The NLE handoff places aligned clips on separate lanes, leaving shot choice and sound treatment to the editor.
