Your AI assistant editor makes stringouts and finds selects

Prepare mixed-format footage, sound and camera notes on existing drives, then hand a reviewed first assembly and distinct selects to your NLE.

The editor needs to know which picture and sound belong together, which takes were marked on set, and which moments are proposed for the cut. A useful first assembly keeps all three answers traceable to the source.

How Stringout solves this

01

Multicam and external audio sync

Stringout brings mixed camera media and separate sound from the drives they already occupy into one project. It aligns picture and sound when timecode or audio gives it enough evidence, and shows the pairing and its review status. Check uncertain matches before using them in the editor’s sequence.

02

Rich camera metadata including circle takes

Supported camera and sidecar marks stay identifiable as on-set evidence. Run Auto-assemble on the project to get a first cut and, when its selects pass finds useful moments, named source-range clips in the Selects bin. Compare those suggestions with the circled take and the full source before deciding what belongs in the edit.

From camera mark to editorial range

Record a real Stringout project with an imported camera mark and a completed Auto-assemble run that added a named source-range clip to Selects. Show the original take and the proposed range as distinct project entries, using only states the app displays.

  1. Open the clip and show its Camera marks or circled-take evidence.
  2. Run Auto-assemble and show its Choosing selects phase.
  3. Open the resulting Selects bin and compare the named range with its full source take.

03

Clips are ranges of original camera files

Review the assembled sequence and inspect sources marked Provisional or Needs review before handoff. Then open the cut in Premiere Pro, Resolve or Final Cut Pro. With the originals online, the editor receives editable picture and production-sound placements tied to their source files, ready for their own cut and finishing decisions.

The result

A first cut the editor can check and change

The editor gets an editable sequence with picture and production sound traced to their sources. Camera marks and the reviewed source-range selects remain distinct in the Stringout project when the cut needs another pass.
