A long interview backlog needs transcripts, but the useful result is still a checked answer tied to its recording. Stringout lets you prepare the footage on your Mac, verify a passage in context and keep the usable range for the edit.

How Stringout solves this

01

Fast, private, and free transcription.

Stringout transcribes interview footage on the Apple Silicon Mac holding your connected drives. On-device transcription is free and unlimited, so a growing backlog does not require purchased transcription hours. The recordings are not uploaded for that processing.

Keep the interviews in the same indexed library you will search and review later. Pro team sharing is a separate cloud service.

02

Search by direct quote or semantic meaning.

Search the interview transcripts for the phrase or topic, then open the matching recording at that passage. Play the surrounding answer to check the wording, delivery and context before treating it as a select.

From transcript hit to checked recording

Record the actual Stringout search and review flow using an interview with a completed transcript. Show the query, matching recording and surrounding passage, then playback for context. Use native app states only.

  1. Search the indexed interviews for a phrase from an answer.
  2. Open the matching recording and transcript passage.
  3. Play before and after the line to check its context.

03

Easily add a quote to the project.

Add the checked recording to a Stringout project and ask Auto-assemble to build a cut around the answer. Review the proposed passage in the sequence against its source recording. The placed range stays linked to that recording, so the next edit can return to the same material.

The result

Checked interview answers ready for the edit

The editor can review the selected passage in a Stringout cut, where its placed range still points to the original recording. The transcripts remain searchable when another answer is needed.
